School is In Session
The 2023-2024 school year has begun! Where did the Summer go? The Annual Registration Fee of $175.00 has been billed to your account. Some of you might have already paid this fee, especially those who are newly enrolled. Also, those who may have entered into our center during the middle of our school year, your charges have been pro-rated. For our three and four year olds, and the new Two-Threes class, if you have not paid your curriculum fees ($75, $110, $65), please do so.
Hours…Although the center opens at 6:00 AM, the business office does not open until 7:00 AM. If you have any questions or concerns, please stop by or give us a call after that time. Also, children must be clocked in by 9:00 AM, each morning. This policy is very important and will be strictly enforced.
School Supplies
If you have not already brought your child’s school supplies to his/ her classroom, please do so as soon as possible.
The new school year has started and everyone has a new classroom and new supply needs. Do not forget to bring a spare set of clothes for your child and please label everything.

We are in the middle of revising and reprinting our latest Parent & Student Handbook. We are planning to have them ready very soon and they will be available at the front desk upon completion. The handbook contains all of the information to make your CELC experience a pleasant one. If you have any questions, please stop by the front office for more information.

For expecting caregivers of children, ages birth to
West Nile Virus
six months, The Safety Place will be offering classes on safety precautions, installing child car seats, and other tips and safe practices. All participants will earn a portable crib, car seat, soft chest carrier, diapers, wipes, a child safety kit, and more.
Classes are offered from 9AM – 1PM on Friday, September 15th; Saturday, September 30th; Friday, October 13th (at St George Fire #60); and Friday, November 10th. Spaces are limited. If you have any questions, please call The Safety Place at 225-372-3991.
Important Dates
- Labor Day – Monday, September 4 – we will be closed.
- CCSS In-Service day – September 18, Monday – we will be open for our school age children
- Teacher In-Service Day – Friday, October 27 – we will be closed
Snack Recipe: Banana Dogs

* 2 Tortillas (any variety will work)
* 1⁄4 cup peanut butter, almond butter, or any other nut butter * 2 bananas, peeled
- Place 1 tortilla on a flat surface and spread 2 tablespoons of peanut butter on the tortilla to coat it evenly.
- Place one whole banana near the edge of the tortilla and roll it up.
- Slice the banana dog into 1⁄2-inch rounds. 4. Repeat to make a second banana dog and serve. Note: If your tortillas are stiff, you can put them in the microwave between 2 pieces of moist paper towel and heat for 15 to 20 seconds, or until softened.
